If plain old POP3 just doesn't do it for you, or you need more out of your mail service then you might be in need of an Exchange mail account. Exchange mail allows you to "sync" your mail, contacts and tasks to the exchange server and back to any Outlook client (or Outlook Web Based Email). Never be without your contacts again because you can login from anywhere and gain access to all of your information. Plans starting at $6.99/mo for a single (Personal Outlook) account, $9.99/mo for if you need mobile access (Personal Outlook with Mobile). If you need more than one address, we have the Group Outlook with Mobile plan for $59.99/mo which allows up to 5 boxes. All plans come with IMAP, POP3 and a free Outlook 2007 Download. Check out our Personal Email or Group Email plan pages for more information. |

The "Complete Email" plan that used to be $9.99 a year (or free with any domain purchase) is now a lot bigger. Before, all complete email plans were 100mb total storage, and now the renamed "Personal Email" plan comes with 1.0g of storage space. Old 100mb plans could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to be fully upgraded (they will say 1g, but will only be using 100mb for a while). We also offer a new unlimited storage email plan. Visit our email page to see all of our plans. |

Today our domain transfers (.com .net and .org only) were lowered to $6.95 as a temporary promotion. For everyone tired of paying ridiculous prices for domains (some as high as $35/yr), this is for you! Our domain prices are kept under $10 a year or as close to it as we can manage. Certain domains are an exception to the rule, but those occasionally go on sale also. Don't put up with domain price inflation anymore, transfer your domains to BlueBallDomains.com now. This sale won't last forever (it can't at this price), so take advantage soon. |

Take a quick trip over to freewho.com and lookup your domain. What do you see for Administrative Contact? If it is not your name, it is not your domain. Many customers call every day asking why their domain is no longer working since they fired their webmaster. After looking at the whois records, we find the webmaster actually owns the domain. Customers are normally completely oblivious to this fact and ask for the domain back. The problem is that most webmasters are smart enough to know that if they purchase the domain in their own account and just charge their customers a yearly fee for it, they maintain control because they are the legal owners of the domain. Webmasters who maintain control over your domain can suddenly change your price without warning and if you do not pay, they can take your domain and use your traffic for their own use. The most important thing to remember when purchasing a domain is to make sure it is in your control and has your name and email address for the registrant and administrative contact. If not, you have little or no power over the domain. If your webmaster insists on controlling the domain, look elsewhere. While it might be more hassle to have to renew your own domain (perfect example of why you should always go for 5-10 years) it will keep you from losing it. |

Woopra, the newest in the analytics field is hitting the web fast. Still in beta, they have a 3-6 week wait to be approved to use it. Once you do get approved, this module will allow you to add the script to your Joomla 1.5 site easily. With the option to block a specific IP address, you can make sure your own visits will not mess with your statistics. Download Joomla 1.5 Woopra Analytics Module here (bottom of the page).

Some people jumped into the .ME rush without reading the rules (don't feel bad, I did the same thing). .ME domains were released with different rules and regulations then most domains you are used to buying and if you don't know about it, you might feel the pinch soon. First of all, .me domains CANNOT be refunded like most domains can. The .me registry is not issuing refunds for any .me that was actually purchased (this excludes pre-registration bids that you lost). Many people started snatching up domains on Thursday then went over their list and started canceling domains they did not want to keep anticipating a refund, only to call into various registries and be told that .me's would not allow refunds. This rule is the same across all registrars, so don't think its just a few being stingy. Second big thing you might have noticed is that 3 letter .me domains are nowhere to be found. Those all went to a special auction instead of being released to the public. Last, but not least (well yes, least because this one isn't all that new) is the fact that .me domains cannot be registered for less than one year at a time. Don't let all of this stop you from snatching up those great .me domains, but do spend a few more minutes thinking about it before you get stuck with something you might not really want.

Today we released a BlueBallDomains.com custom Joomla module. This module allows you to add a domain name search feature to any Joomla 1.5.x site. Easy to install with no settings or configuration. Install it and place it in the position you want. Users will be brought to our "store" page with the results of the search. Domains can then be purchased in a few easy steps. This is the first Joomla 1.5 compatible domain search module at the time. Download Joomla Domain Search module here (bottom of the page). |

Where is your ME? Confused? Nice! Thursday the 17th (7/17/08) .me domains will officially be available for purchase. For all of you that bid on one hoping to get it and lost, now you can try again without the confusion. Starting Thursday you will no longer have to prove trademark/copyright ownership of a name or have a bid war with anyone. Any .me purchased will be yours, just like a normal domain purchase. Don't wait, the good names will be gone soon. |

So you found the perfect domain and you think you found a great price but you want to shop around. You want to see if any of the big dogs can beat our prices. You wander on over to Network Solutions and type in your domain, and after you see their price you decide to stick with your original choice. When you come back, your domain is no longer available! You have just been hit by a customer trap, and you have 2 choices. Either pay an outrageous price for your domain or wait up to a week for the domain to become available again. Don't get stuck paying more, our prices will always stay as close to $10/yr as we can keep them with few exceptions on certain TLDs. |

ICANN (think of them as the domain name government) recently voted that any word can be used as a tld (the extension on a domain name, eg. .com or .net) if you can foot the bill for it. No confirmed prices on this yet, but I have seen rumors that $50,000 would be a starting point. Be on the lookout for mass internet confusion as we introduce yet more .<your word here>'s for the general public to remember. |

Yahoo recently announced that they have raised the renewal rate of all of their domain names to $35 a year. Most of these domains were purchased at huge sale prices as low as $0.99 for the first year. You can imagine how confused and upset many customers are going to be when they first find out about this. Many registrars are noticing flocks of angry customers heading their way with much appreciated business. Thank you Yahoo for showing the world twice in a month just how stupid of a decision a multi-billion dollar company can make. |
